Let me take you back to Year 2 of Q Movements.

I was still teaching outdoor fitness classes in parks, hauling resistance bands, dumbbells, and yoga mats in the back of my Jeep. I was scribbling down workouts in a notebook, fueled by passion and a portable speaker.

But something in me knew it was time to take the next step.

There I was two years into my journey as a business owner in front of a camera for the very first time.

marketing, business owner, storytelling

Welcome to my very first video shoot for Q Movements.

Heart pounding, palms sweaty. And it changed everything.

Why? Because I said YES even when it felt uncomfortable.

Before that day, I had no clue how to market or promote myself. But I knew this mission mattered. And when you’re building something from the ground up, you have to get scrappy, stretch yourself, and be willing to show up anyway.

And yes it helps when your husband happens to be a seasoned video producer, director, and editor. Let’s just say, he worked some serious magic!

The Mindset Shift That Changed Everything

That uncomfortable moment in front of the camera taught me something that still applies 12 years later:

“Stepping outside your comfort zone is where the transformation begins.”

It wasn’t about proving I knew everything. It was about being willing to stretch, grow, and show up anyway even when I was unsure, unpolished, and unfiltered.

It also marked the beginning of the Q Movements YouTube Channel!

How It Sparked the Q Movements Brand You Know Today

Before that shoot, I didn’t know how to market myself or tell my story. But I knew this mission, helping women build strong minds and strong bodies mattered deeply.

That video shoot was the spark that helped me:

  • Launch a presence beyond local parks

  • Build brand trust with real storytelling

  • Attract clients who resonated with the heart of the mission

It was messy. It was imperfect. And it was exactly what I needed.

MindFit Pro Tip: Confidence Comes Through Action

Stepping out of your comfort zone isn’t about proving something, it's about discovering what's been inside you all along.

When you show up imperfectly but consistently, you build real confidence, the kind that sticks around longer than motivation.

This month, I’m celebrating 12 years of Q Movements—12 years of stories, sweat, courage, coaching, and community.

Stay tuned as I continue sharing behind-the-scenes milestones, memories, and behind-the-scenes breakthroughs from each year in business.

Focus forward,

SQ
