The Power of the First Step: The Story Behind Q Movements

Twelve years ago this month, I took a leap.

After spending over a decade in corporate health and wellness management, I made the bold decision to step away and pursue something more personal, more purposeful, something of my own.

I still remember sitting in a corner booth at Jim's Restaurant with my now-husband Robb, scribbling names and intentions for this new business on a napkin. I even have a photo of that napkin. It’s surreal to look at it now and see that the original intention behind Q Movements has never changed. If anything, it’s only grown deeper.

I didn’t have a business degree or formal training in entrepreneurship, so I reached out to SCORE San Antonio, where a mentor generously shared their time, wisdom, and experience.

What I did have was a deep desire to do meaningful work, a drive to help others feel strong in both mind and body, and the steady support of Robb, who believed in me from the very beginning.

Twelve years ago, I showed up at Raymond Rimkus Park with butterflies in my stomach and a little receipt book from the office supply store to feel “official.”

I was there to teach my first Fit Club in the Park classes and coach my very first 1:1 client. I didn’t have a roadmap but I had heart, hustle, and a calling to serve.

Looking back now, I can’t help but smile at how far I've come.

From that first group workout in the park to today, a thriving coaching business, a signature method, a powerful podcast, and a global community of women. It's been a journey of steady, meaningful growth.

MindFit Pro Tip: The Power of the First Step

That very first step whether it’s into a park, a mindset shift, or a new season of life is always the hardest. We often wait for the perfect time or the perfect plan. But the truth is, growth doesn’t require perfection, just courage.

You don’t have to have it all figured out to begin. What matters is that you start.

Whether you’ve been part of Q Movements from day one or just joined recently, I want you to know how grateful I am for you. You’ve helped shape this mission and this movement.

To celebrate, over the next 12 days, I’ll be sharing photos, milestones, and memories from each year and on August 12th, I’ll be revealing a Special Anniversary Offer you won’t want to miss.

Let’s celebrate the power of beginning, starting with where it all began.

Focus Forward,

SQ
