Overwhelmed? Learn How to Cope with Stress & Anxiety

I wanted to take a moment to talk about something that I know many of us experience—stress and anxiety. While we often use these terms interchangeably, understanding their differences and how they affect your health can be a powerful first step toward feeling better.

Stress vs. Anxiety: What’s the Difference?

  • Stress typically arises from an external trigger—think about a deadline, a work challenge, or a personal situation that demands your attention. It’s usually temporary and fades once the trigger is gone.

  • Anxiety, however, can linger. It's a feeling of unease, worry, or fear that might not have a clear cause. It tends to stick around and can even get worse over time if not addressed.

The Impact on Your Health

Both stress and anxiety have a huge impact on your well-being—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

They can show up as:

  • Difficulty sleeping or staying focused

  • Feeling physically drained or tense

  • Struggling with decision-making

  • Experiencing worry or a constant sense of being overwhelmed

I’ve seen it firsthand with my clients: when stress and anxiety aren’t managed, it can affect sleep, energy levels, even the joy you find in daily life. They start by sharing stories of burnout and end up recognizing that stress and anxiety were more deeply entwined in their lives than they realized.

How to Cope and Take Control

The great news is that there are effective ways to manage these feelings and safeguard your health.

This is exactly where my MindFit Coaching can make a difference. Here are three key steps that have been incredibly impactful for my clients:

  1. Mindful Breathing & Grounding: When your mind is racing, finding just five minutes to slow down your breathing can make all the difference.

  2. Movement that Heals: Gentle, intentional movement not only strengthens your body but naturally releases endorphins that calm the mind.

  3. Reflective Practice: I often share how journaling about what made you anxious and finding gratitude in small wins can shift your perspective.

I work with busy, high-achieving individuals who feel like they’re on a constant treadmill of “doing.” Together, we dive deep into understanding your stressors, shifting your mindset, and creating real, doable solutions.

This isn’t just coaching—it’s a safe space to talk, reflect, and build resilience, helping you meet life’s challenges with clarity and confidence.

The goal isn’t simply to “manage” stress. It’s about changing your mindset so you can rise above it, gain clarity, and feel more aligned with your true goals and values.

Clients often share that working together has been their wake-up call. Here’s a text message I received from a client this week after our coaching session.
