Twelve years ago, I stood in Raymond Rimkus Park, about to meet my very first 1:1 coaching client. I had no idea what I was doing—just a heart full of ambition and a lot of nervous energy. In fact, I even brought along a little receipt book from the office supply store to feel “official.” I had no clue what was ahead, but I was ready to start.
Looking back now, I can’t help but smile at how far things have come. From that first step in the park to where I am today, it’s been a journey of growth—not just as a coach, but as a person, a professional, and a businesswoman.
This journey hasn’t always been easy. Like any path to success, it’s been filled with challenges and lessons. But through it all, I’ve learned something that continues to fuel my work today: We all start somewhere.
Growth doesn’t happen overnight. It’s not about taking one giant leap forward, but about taking it one step at a time.
The Power of Taking That First Step
The first step is always the hardest. I know it firsthand. When you’re facing something new—whether it’s a new fitness goal, a career change, or simply trying to get your mindset right—it can feel overwhelming. But here's the thing: you don't have to have everything figured out from the start.
What matters is that you take that first step. Even if it’s small. Even if it feels uncertain. Starting is often the hardest part, but it’s also the most powerful. And once you start, you’re already on your way to growth.

How MindFit Coaching Helps You Start
That’s what MindFit Coaching is all about—meeting you where you are and helping you take that first step toward where you want to go. Whether you’re stuck in a rut, struggling to prioritize your health, or just feeling unfulfilled, the first step might feel scary. But it’s so worth it.
Here are a few tips to help you take that first step, no matter where you are in your journey:
Start Small: Don’t overwhelm yourself with big, drastic changes. Start with small, manageable actions that you can sustain over time. A tiny step forward is still progress.
Shift Your Mindset: Your mindset will determine your success. If you focus on fear or failure, you’ll hold yourself back. But if you focus on growth, resilience, and potential, you’ll move forward with confidence.
Set Realistic Expectations: Growth takes time. Progress isn’t always linear, and that's okay. Allow yourself the space to evolve, make mistakes, and learn.
Find Support: It’s hard to grow alone. Surround yourself with people who encourage and challenge you, whether it’s a coach, a friend, or a mentor. I’ve seen firsthand how powerful having support can be in achieving your goals.
Celebrate Small Wins: Every little success matters. Celebrate the small victories along the way, because they lead to the bigger wins.
Looking Ahead
As I reflect on my own journey, I’m excited for what comes next. The challenges, the growth, and the new opportunities to evolve—both as a coach and as a person. I truly believe that growth never stops.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to guide others in their journeys, helping them take that first step and watch them thrive. Here’s to the next chapter, the next challenge, and the next opportunity to grow!
Focus forward,
SQ
